Technology Tools for Educators – A Great Resource for Learning about Them

Several folks came back from a workshop on Technology Tools.  I got the low-down from Margaret Snyder.

The workshop presenter was Sue Frantz from Highline.  She teaches psychology.  Interestingly, she tried teaching online and didn’t like it so she teaches face-to-face (well, web-enhanced!).  Tech is her thing so she uses lots of tools in her teaching.  She presented on some of her favorite ones.  (I’m scheming up ways now to do some hands-on stuff here with some of them).

Anyway, she has a great blog where she covers technology tools.  It’s great!

  1. Thanks for the plug for my blog! When a lot of faculty think of technology, they think it’s only for teaching online. Not at all! No matter what modality you use to teach a course, you are communicating with students. There are plenty of tools that make that communication much smoother. I have two rules when choosing what to write about. 1.) The technology has to be easy to use. 2.) The technology has to be of value to teaching; it has to be a tool I use or would use if it fit the goals of my course. I hope you stop by and visit every now and again!

  2. Thanks for your comments! I will definitely be following your blog. I love your practical approach to presenting some cool tools. You’re right — it’s about what value the tools add to teaching. Your perspective as an active teacher is invaluable. Keep up the great work!
